Golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos)

The eagles winter prominently within the CCZ in Paju and Cheolwon. The large population of the birds has been attributed to the residents of the areas who release the eagles to the natural environment by feeding and protecting them. The harmony between the wildlife and residents in CCZ implies the possibility of coexistence between human beings and nature.
