This goldsmith’s melting furnace, commissioned by the Vistula Museum, was recreated based on a drawing by Etienne Delaune from 1576, depicting the interior of a goldsmith’s workshop. Such a furnace was fuelled with charcoal. It was used to melt metals (that were subsequently poured into moulds) in heat-resistant crucibles.
