Goodbye Flower – It was not an option, it was just as it is. (From the ‘Farewell’ series (COVID Edition)

‘Farewell series (COVID Edition)’ is part of a long term, visual documentation series. The COVID Edition is about the time Ameena Aljarman spent inside my house during the 24-hour lockdown in Dubai. During these three weeks, she looked at the details inside her house to recollect anything that reminded her of pre-COVID times. She realised she had lost many things associated with place, emotions and herself without even noticing. She started a ceremony of replicating ghosted objects, emotions, spaces and meaningless forms; honouring them with a farewell without the choice of understanding myself with or without them.
