Horobyeong, or calabash bottle, is a container for liquor or medicine, and is also called horibyeong. It is made by hollowing out a calabash, which has a round body with a slim waist. A twisted string is tied up at the waist and linked to a horn nib used to insert into the mouth of the bottle as a stopper. The exterior of the bottle has been lacquered in a reddish-brown color.
