Gourd-shaped kiln, no longer in use (1)

Lo bau (Gourd-shaped Kiln) is a wood-fired traditional kiln of Bat Trang. There were approximately 20 lo bau’s ever produced and each of the domes was allowed to be rented by small workshops. To fire good quality ceramic products using a gourd kiln, the craftsman needs experience in controlling the temperature and spread of the flame.
