Dress, 1818-20, cotton lawn. Bodice joined to skirt with raised waistline and long sleeves. Skirt has central panel of whitework embroidery, worked in either India or Ayrshire. Motifs of whitework embroidery repeated at hem, sleeves formed of strips of lawn, joined by lengths of trimming formed by handmade flowers made of cotton tape. Trimming repeated at neck, embroidered muslin frill at hem and cuffs. Skirt gathered with drawstring, fastening centre back at waist. Double ruffle at shoulder, at top of sleeve.
