Short dress made from silk satin in bluish gray with a square neckline at the front and whalebone structure. The back has a central panel in the shape of a diamond and two side panels. The whole inner edge is lined with a waistband that fastens with a clasp. The edge of the neck is decorated with Valenciennes lace in the same color and a double band of ivory silk satin. The lace neck is framed with a band of red silk velvet which is tied in a knot in the middle. The long sleeves start below the shoulder, with gentle shaping at the elbow and an opening in the external stitching on the forearm. On the outside, they are decorated with a double band of ivory satin, a bow and Valenciennes lace, and the edge of the opening and cuffs is decorated with a pleated silk satin band. It fastens at the front with four pearl buttons. The entire body is lined with cotton taffeta in the same color.
Structurally, it resembles the models worn between 1865 and 1870, when the bodies of dresses were short and the skirts voluminous at the rear, where they were embellished with decorative ties and draping.
