Graciano López Jaena was a writer, orator, revolutionary, and national hero from Jaro, Iloilo, who was well known for being the founder and first editor of the newspaper La Solidaridad. The plaza of Jaro was renamed in his honor. In the middle of the plaza stands a memorial in his honor.
