This is the second version of the graffiti that the artists ACME, Airá Ocrespo and Marcelo Ment made for the exhibition Objects and Their Narratives. The first one, set up in 2016, was damaged by a construction site and the panel had to be redone. Since graffiti is an ephemeral art, the new panel would have to be different – although based on the original argument that the artists built in dialogue with the exhibition.

- About Creator: Marcelo Ment is a graffiti artist from the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro and part of the first generation of Rio’s graffiti scene. With a 27-year career, he is known for his vibrant colors and female figures, portraying people, communities, and urban landscapes. He has taken part in projects in cities such as Paris, Berlin, London, New York, Boston, Chicago, Miami, and Buenos Aires. In 2024, he held his first solo museum exhibition at the National Center for Folklore and Popular Culture (RJ), as part of the Sala do Artista Popular (SAP) program. Airá Ocrespo is an artist from the North Zone of Rio, born and raised in Olaria. He has been active for over 20 years, creating works that address political themes and celebrate the history of the Black population. He came of age alongside the generation that occupied Lapa with the hip-hop movement in the 2000s and also has a background in rap battles, describing himself as an “MC graffiti artist.” Mestre Acme is a graffiti artist, artivist, and self-taught sculptor with work in Brazil and abroad. He is a co-founder of the Museum of the Favela (Museu de Favela – RJ), where he created the “Canvas-House Circuit” project, painting the façades of homes in the Pavão-Pavãozinho and Cantagalo communities. His works are part of the collections of the National Historical Museum, the Museum of Folklore, and the Museum of the Favela. He also creates sculptures using upcycling techniques and founded the Ninho das Águias Library, an initiative that promotes reading and culture in the favelas.
