Grand Master Manoel Pinto de Fonseca

Grand Master Pinto from the Langue of Portugal was the longest serving Grand Master (32 years). He is depicted in full lenght wearing a suit of armour with the white eight pointed Maltese Cross on his chest.The work was probably executed shortly after Pinto’s election to the Grandmastership on 18th January 1741.
