Feng Fasi, aka. Luo Feng, was born in Lujiang, Anhui province. In 1933, he Studied in the College of Education, National Central University in Nanjing. After graduation, Feng devoted himself to promoting the spirit of resistance against Japan’s invasion in 1937. In 1938, he enrolled in the Department of Fine Arts in Lu Xun College of Arts in Yan’an. In 1939, he taught in Wuchang Fine Arts School in Jiangjin, Sichuan province, and became a research associate at China Academy of Art in 1942. From 1946 to 1949, he worked as an associate professor in the National Beiping Art College. After the foundation of the People’s Republic of China, he served as a professor at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts, the chair of the Department of Drawing, the director of the Section of Oil Painting, and later the chair of the Department of Oil Painting.
