One of the great childhood memories that Sérgio carries with him - in addition to those of the 1970 World Cup - is a trip to Argentina, around 1974 and 1975. In fact, that was the Paz family's first international trip, which departed from São Paulo and , after almost 2000 kilometers, arrived in Montevideo, the Uruguayan capital. From there, they crossed the ferry to Buenos Aires. Sérgio, who had no idea about the rivalry between the two biggest Argentine teams, Boca Juniors and River Plate, says that he won the Grangol game as a Christmas present and that it was an adventure carrying a box with those dimensions through the streets of the Buenos Aires capital, and then , for the saga of returning to the lands of São Paulo.
