Grant Park entrance on Cherokee Avenue. The building on the right is the original cyclorama building that housed the famous oil painting 'The Battle of Atlanta.' This building was replaced in 1921 by a new building. Also evident in the postcard is the original streetcar tracks that ran down Cherokee avenue. The Metropolitan Street Railway Company established streetcar service in Grant Park in the late 1880s and early 1890s. These street rail lines brought Atlantans to the park, including the Zoo and Cyclorama, pictured above.
