Stoic Great Horned Owls are likely the origin of the myth of the "Wise Old Owl." However, with eyes that take up much of the bird's skull, the Great Horned Owl has to use all of its peanut sized brain to focus on what an owl does best: hunting, taking care of young, and protecting its territory.
