Simatai Great Wall
Beijing, China

Leishi hole, generally built along the wall of the Great Wall, is spaced every few meters, straight down and showing the shape of small up and large down. Its main function is to throw attack weapons, boulders and other objects. The cleverness is that this vertically inclined angle can make the thrown stones roll far away, instead of falling directly to the ground perpendicular to the wall.
