Great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias)

The great white shark stands at the top of the food chain in the world’s subtropical and temperate oceans. It has unfairly gained a reputation as a “man-eater” and has been hunted for decades. Strong demand from Asia for shark fins and cartilage means that the great white shark is today an endangered species.
