Long Description: "The depiction of the round-cheecked Greek lady is the particular painting, in which the painter most precisely followed the graphic model, paper 2 from Chappelle's series "Recvel de divers portraits des principales dames de la Porte dv Grand Tvrc...". The painting's colouring is not particularly attractive, but the part showing Istanbul's panorama exactly copied in cold grey shades enchants us all the more. The walls, the sea of houses, domes and minarets are glowing in the morning light and in the first gentle yellow rays of sun pouring into the painting from its left side." (dr. Polona Vidmar)
