On a rocky outcrop near Green Moor farmhouse are a series of inscriptions left by First World War conscientious objectors. They were on the run from the authorities, avoiding conscription and actively engaged in campaigning against the war. the Green Moor was used as a safe house. This monument is scheduled under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979.
