This tile with its 'Pomegranate' pattern was salvaged from an unknown station. Originally used as part of a frieze, the design is rare compared with 'Acanthus leaf' motif that was also used to decorate Underground stations designed by Leslie Green. When the three new Yerkes Tubes opened in the 1900s, the American financier Charles Yerkes wanted to create a uniform style. He employed architect Leslie Green, who used distinctive green glazed tiles in the booking halls.
