Marshall, United States

At the age of 12, American John C. Green (1866-1951) decided to join a circus when he saw it unloading from one of the railcars while working as a candy butcher for a train line. He worked a number of jobs while learning magic from the circus magician. He performed for over 70 years, mostly in small communities and farm towns in Canada and the United States, which he preferred over the larger theaters and cities.
