Green-yellow-glazed Two-ear Jar with Brown and Yellow Dots

Unearthed on Wenhe road of Yangzhou city in 1978, this pot, with an upright opening rim, thick neck, slanted narrow shoulders, bottom with a concave interior, as well as simple but eye-catching decoration, is evidently characteristic of West Asian pottery. Two knobs in the shape of curly strips lies in the area where the neck meets the shoulder. The greyish yellow pottery body is covered with green-yellow glaze all over but the bottom. Its belly features two symmetrical pattern groups: a heart shape composed of brown dots surrounding a smaller circle of blue spots with another blue dot in the center. Between the two hearts there are two circle of brown spots with a blue dot in the center.
