Greenhouses, Kylemore Castle, Letterfrack, Co Galway, around 1880

Kylemore Castle’s eight and a half acre formal gardens were laid out in 1867. Its twenty-one Gothic-style interconnecting heated glasshouses were constructed later, to designs by Cranstons of Birmingham and laid out by head gardener James Garnier.
