Gregorio Vargas

Portrait of Gregorio Vargas. He belonged to the Mercedarian Order. He studied at the University of San Marcos where he obtained the degree of Doctor of Theology. He was Synodal Examiner of the Archbishopric, Qualifier of the Holy Office and Commander of the Great Convent of Lima (1738-1741). He taught Arts and Sacred Scripture at the University of San Marcos.
