This lunar rover, called Grover, was built by the United States Geological Survey Research Program in 1971 and was used to help train Apollo 15-17 astronauts. This training rover was built by mechanics William Tennin and Irving Wiser in Flagstaff, AZ and equipment specialist Rutledge Mills. Grover weighs 800 pounds and was one of only ten lunar rovers built.
