This restaurant coin-operated gramophone has a gooseneck horn, an ornamentally decorated walnut casing, and an automatic mechanical spring motor. There were specialized manufacturers for many gramophone components at the beginning of the 20th century. Some dealers built the devices from the delivered parts themselves. As with any gramophone of that time, for good sound quality the stylus needed to be replaced after every disc side played.
