Gurara waterfall is about 30 metres in hieght, it was discovered by Buba, a Gwari hunter in 1745 during one of his hunting expedition. The waterfall got its name from two gods 'Gura' and 'Rara', these gods were once worshiped by the communities around the fall, they offered sacrifices to the fall in return for answered prayers until 1925 when it was converted to a recreational area. The waterfall is ferocious during the raining season but mild and perfect for a swim during the dry season. Gurara waterfall is situated along Suleja-Minna in Gurara local government area of Niger State.
