Géraldine Sarratia - Genre Ideal

"My name is Géraldine Sarratia, I am a journalist, director and producer. Music has always occupied a large place in my life. This childhood passion (Plastic Bertrand played on a loop for 4 years, until the death of the record) quickly turned into a way of life (bands, concerts, sociability), and then quite naturally into a profession: I became a culture journalist, and I wrote about music, record releases, concerts, and artists for the Inrockuptibles for fifteen years. During these years, my position became more refined, and I wanted to continue to transmit but be more involved in creation and production. I started with two friends, also passionate about music, Mélissa Phulpin and Elodie Demey, to organize evenings "To be defined in the near future" which would make discover women artists and create creative bridges between them.
Passionate about radio and voices, I also decided, after having hosted and created the show Dans le genre on Nova, to create a structure/toolbox able to implement my different projects and desires: podcasts, texts, identities... Genre Idéal was born this way.
After a few months working in my office-bed, the opportunity to join the Mila was super stimulating. I already knew a few members, including the Grünt who strongly encouraged me to join. I loved the spirit, super welcoming, open. Everyone is free to develop at their own pace. Apart from the workshops offered, the often informal exchanges at the coffee machine are very appreciable. Sometimes you find a new idea, a possible resource, or just an opening to someone else. I work very well at my office. I appreciate its calm and the autonomy it gives me. I can receive partners, clients, collaborators. To better adapt it to my needs, I equipped it to be able to edit and delete my podcasts. Since I arrived at the Mila, I have continued to produce Le goût de M pour le Monde, A tous les Batards, which followed the creation of Eddy de Pretto's second album, and Vortex Subutex, devoted to the genesis of the graphic novel and the very strong relationship between Luz and Virginie Despentes."
