Portrait of the emperor Hadrian who spent the winter of 122-123 AD in Tarraco to preside over an extraordinary assembly of notables of Hispania. This is an official portrait, probably made in a local workshop. It would have been one of the numerous imperial sculptures and portraits embellishing the public and semi-public buildings of ancient Tarraco.
