Haedongyeojido consists of three volumes: Gun, Gon, and Bo. The first two volumes, the 81-chapter Gun and the 71-chapter Gon, contain village maps, and the final 92-chapter Bo provides explanatory notes about the villages. On each page, frame lines of the maps are drawn, and grids are marked within the lines. The Gun volume includes the maps of 38 villages in Gyeonggi Province, 54 villages in Chungcheong Province, 54 villages in Jeolla Province, and 71 villages in Gyeongsang Province. The Gon volume includes the maps of 26 villages in Gangwon Province, 23 villages in Hwanghae Province, 42 villages in Pyeongan Province, and 23 villages in Hamgyeoung Province.
