Half-dresser with Jack Legs

Anonymous1701/1800

This piece has exquisite execution in cutting and notching techniques. Its curved lines and indentations have a Baroque influence. A rare detail are the feet of boots that “put on” the “jack” legs with protruding curves. The handles are Moorish-inspired. Derived from the dresser, the half dresser was created in France around 1700, differentiating itself by presenting only two drawers and higher legs. The piece is part of the MCB Collection.
