Hand printing with the Rekh outline blocks

2009

The dexterity and skill of the printer is on display as he prints on the Harda treated cloth. Using the outline rekh block, its skilled careful positioning, soaked in colour, results in an even all-over print. The handiness of the printer is apparent here as he positions the corner of the block onto the cloth with his right hand while simultaneously aligning it unerringly with the outline of the previously stamped pattern.

Each block repeat stamped with not even a hairbreadth between placements. A job that requires dexterity, proficiency and expertise.
