Most of the lumber used in the construction of the cabins came from the surrounding forests. The crews used a portable saw mill for the bigger jobs, and smaller hand saws, like the one shown here, for rough cutting smaller lumber. The buildings were designed to look rustic and blend in with the wooded surroundings.
