Texas Instruments produced a large line of electronic educational products, including the Dataman Electronic Calculator. Unlike a true calculator, typing in an equation will not produce an answer. Instead, users are required to provide an answer, and Dataman will either produce several flashes on its screen for a correct response, or give an error message if not. Providing an incorrect response two times in a row will prompt Dataman to display the right answer. But all work and no play makes for a dull experience, so Texas Instruments also included five math-themed mini games on the device.
