This Hanukkah lamp is designed with nine flame shaped brass candleholders that are arranged in a curve and linked with a thin rod. The shamash (or servant, a ninth holder for a candle used to light other candles) is on the same level with the others. There is an additional pair of candle holders with three elongated feet that can be used to light candles on Friday evening, the beginning of the Jewish sabbath. The plain and functional nature of the lamp reflects Ludwig Wolpert's pared down modernist style.
