The delicate, flowing lines that make up the arms and shaft of this lamp are hallmarks of Art Nouveau. The screws used in the candleholders and shaft are standardized in the metric system, thereby indicating a European origin. The eagle finial, however, has an inch-standard screw, and it is therefore a later replacement. Two lamp parallels have flame finials, which would place the lamp among the group of German and German-related lamps with flames.
