This view looks northwards over the River Thames towards Hardwick House. It was taken by the Bournemouth-based photographer and garden historian Williams James Day.
Hardwick House probably dates back to the early 16th century. A wing was added in the mid 17th century and alterations made in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The south wing was rebuilt after part of the house was damaged by bombardment during the Civil War.
