Nymphenburg figure of Harlequin, modelled by F. A. Bustelli. Harlequin wears a tunic with a diamond pattern in puce, turquoise, yellow and white. The cuffs are lined with puce and a white ruffle at the neck and the wrists. His trousers have a similar pattern in the same colouring. His face is partly covered by a black mask and he wears a yellow hat, the brim turned back and edged in puce, trimmed with a white feather. Round his thigh and partly covered by his tunic he wears a black belt with his slapstick thrust through it. In his arms he holds a small monkey wrapped in swaddling clothes, pressing it close to his breast. He stands on a white scroll base with some delicate gilding.
