Competitive hillclimbing was extremely popular from the earliest days of motorcycling. Perilous slopes, dramatic finishes, and intense competition drew crowds of thousands to sites across the world. The DAH provides an excellent lesson on the physics of hillclimbing. The extended frame provides stability, allowing for better steering and a decreased likelihood the rider will flip over backward. The tire chains supply traction, helping to push the motorcycle uphill.
