South Portland native Harry Glickman and his partners established two professional sports teams: the Portland Trailblazers basketball team, the only major league professional sports team in Portland, and the Portland Buckaroos hockey team. The Trailblazers won the NBA championship in 1977 and set an all time record for consecutive capacity crowds in professional sports. The Buckaroos won eight league championships, the Patrick Cup in 1961 and three Lester Cups. Harry served as president of both clubs.
