Wide-brimmed off-white satin hat with silk satin/ striped gauze trim; tall crown widens towards top; draped satin covers sides of crown; trim around crown constructed of eight inch wide band of alternating off-white satin and silk novelty-woven striped gauze with blistered effect, edges bound in satin; band twisted and tacked to give puffed effect; narrow gauze band applied to base of crown with half-bow and two long, fringed extensions; stiffened and wired brim broader at front, narrowing at back; top of brim covered in satin; underside edged in gauze and lined in China silk; interior crown of buckram.
