Havendienst 7

'Havendienst 7' was added to the fleet of the Rotterdam port authority in 1979. It was especially designed for fire fighting but also a fast patrol boat. The ship had a top spead of 35 knots (65 kilometres per hour) thanks to it's special design. It is a so called Surface Effect Ship (SES) that hold the middle between a hovercraft and a catamaran. A design that was made by the British company Hovermarine. 'Havendienst 7' was not a big succes. Maintenance was very expensive and fuel consumption relatively high. They were in service for only ten years. Dimensions of the model (lxwxh): 74,5 x 25 x 30,5 cm.
