Head and hands were made in magnitude to Paris. Then they were covered with soapstone triangles (soapstone) sewn onto the fabric, which constitute the skin. This stone has the property of hardening in air. PL did conduct tests in Boulogne, in the famous mosaic Gentil and Bourdet Factory.
