Cheone, also called choenui, hoengdap, or meori cheone, is a women’s headgear of the Joseon Dynasty. This type of cape has the same shape as a small skirt, and inverted pleats were made on the square cloth with strings on both ends. A collar was added to allow the collar to be worn horizontally on the forehead, then wrapped around and tied with the strings at the back. Some capes were padded with cotton to be used in winter.
