Head of a Shepherd

This bronze of intense expression, which is a work from the master’s youth, is probably related to other heads of people made by Gemito in the workshop of Mojariello at Capodimonte where he worked in the early 1870’s. The artist cleverly exploits the irregularities created by the casting process to obtain vibrating and jagged surfaces that catch the light.
