Head of Saint Orontius - Museum of Sacred Art

Sculpture in polychrome terracotta of the head of Saint Orontiun.
According to the tradition, the Saint was martyred at the dawn of 26 August 68 AD in the site where the sanctuary of "Sant’Oronzo Fuori le Mura" (Saint Orontius Outside the Walls), also known as “La Capu te Santu Ronzu” (Saint Orontius’ Head), stands today.
