Description: Ferrer’s Cabeza, which depicts a human head and torso through an assemblage of scrap metal. It seems to question the process of mechanization to which humans have been subjected in an increasingly industrial civilization. For Ferrer, Cabeza depicts dehumanization through technology, or perhaps a machine that has begun to acquire human semblance. Either way, the prospect is not a reassuring one, Ferrer points to that “ghost in the machine.” -Text by Francesca Giani
