History San José
San Jose, United States

The "Heart's Delight" brand refers to the Santa Clara Valley's moniker, the Valley of Heart's Delight. The Valley was given this nickname because of the fertile soil and ideal climate for growing many kinds of fruit. Founded in 1919 by Elmer E. Chase and Edmund N. Richmond, the Richmond-Chase Company operated as an independent cannery until 1958, with plants in both San Jose and Stockton.
