Hebraic Inscription

Funerary inscription of Pomponius, twice archon of the Calcaresian synagogue. The title "archon" refers to the main office of the synagogues; although location of the synagogue is unknown, its name seems to relate the a place of worship to a professional corporation, linked to the processing of lime. 3rd-4th century AD
