Large numbers of fragments of this iron meteorite were found in 1931 in and around the Henbury Meteorite Craters, a series of at least 13 small craters, the largest one of which is 200 metres in diameter. They are located about 125km south west of Alice Springs, Northern Territory. These meteorites fell to earth about 4,700 years ago. So far, about 680kg of meteorite fragments have been recovered.
