Henna is a cosmetic plant. Powder of its leaves is made into a paste and used for cosmetic purposes, especially with the hands and feet and also for dying the hair. Henna is a well-known plant in many countries worldwide. The amount of effective substances, especially lawsone (the colorful substance), increase in henna the older the plant is. Relatively young plants have a smaller amount of these substances that that in older plants.
